Jumolhari Trek
The Jumolhari Trek is one of Bhutan’s most celebrated trekking routes, offering breathtaking views of Mount Jumolhari (7,314m)—the “Mountain of the Goddess” and one of Bhutan’s most revered guardian peaks. Beginning in the picturesque Paro Valley, the trail winds through traditional hamlets and terraced farmland before entering deep, forested valleys rich with pine, oak, and rhododendron.
As the landscape opens into high alpine pasturelands, trekkers encounter yak herders grazing their animals against a dramatic Himalayan backdrop. The route passes through little‑visited villages, vast alpine meadows, trout‑filled streams, and vibrant carpets of wildflowers during the warmer months. Wildlife sightings may include blue sheep and a variety of Himalayan bird species.
